Council of Land Surveyors is a statutory body which was enacted through an Act of Parliament. It is governed by the Land Surveyors Act (Chapter 27:06) and the Land Surveyors (General) Rules 1990 contained under Statutory Instrument 96 of 1990 and Land Surveyors ( General) Amendment) Rules, 2010 (No. 9) contained under Statutory Instrument 179 of 2010. The mandate of the Council is the registration of Land Surveyors and to regulate the conduct of Land Surveyors. Council is also responsible for the registration of Non-Practising Land Surveyors, Land Surveyors-in-Training and Land Survey Technician.
